Charles "Jim" Renard, 34 of 1924 Kevin Ave., Elgin, died Monday, Sept. 22, in Sherman Hospital, Elgin, following an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 29, 1940, in Elgin, the son of Charles and Dorothy Renard.
He had lived in Hampshire and Elgin all of his life. Mr. Renard was a land surveyor, employed by Donahue and Thornhill Plan Surveyors of Geneva. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and was a Navy veteran.
Survivors are the widow, Mary; one daughter, Kimberly, at home; one son, Kevin, his parents of Elgin; a brother, Ronald Renard of Charleston, S.C., one sister, Mrs. Phil (Kathy) Bredesen of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ella Renard of Elgin and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lucy Crane of Elgin.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Good Shepard Lutheran Church with the Rev. Leroy R. Koepke, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in Lake Street Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in the Good Shepard Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
