A sad and fatal accident occurred near the residence of Jame Roseberry, three miles north of our town on Saturday evening last. Frank Stoner, with two young friends, Mr. Wilson and Roseberry, were hunting and while ascending a steep bank of the Santa Fe railroad, the gun carried by Mr. Stone, was by accident discharged and the load entered the left ear. The wound proved fatal and the unfortunate young man died about one o'clock Sunday morning. His mother and brothers are prostrate with grief on account of this sad accident and have the sympathy of the entire community. "Frank" was about sixteen years of age and highly respected by all who knew him. His remains were laid to rest in St. Joseph's cemetery in Edina on Monday last. Dr. Crawford was called to see the unfortunate young man and in company with Dr. T. A. Campbell gave all the aid possible, but to no effect.

A Sad Accident

KENWOOD, Mo., May 27th, 1893.—Frankie P. Stoner, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Stoner, living eight miles west of Edina, while in company with two neighbor boys Saturday evening—Frank Wilson and Walter Roseberry—was fatally shot from a discharge from Roseberry or Wilson's gun—the heavy load taking effect just behind the left ear. Drs. M. F. Crawford of Hurdland, and T. A. Campbell of Edina, were immediately summoned and they at once pronounced the wound fatal. He lived just nine hours after receiving the deadly wound. Frankie S. was 17 years and 22 days old; while but a boy in years he was the best read man in the country; when but a child of eleven he was beyond the public schools in knowledge, was known for his mathematical ability and penmanship and last but not least a perfect artist. His loss will be ever felt from our midst. May the just God who doeth all things well console the broken hearted parent and brothers that are left to mourn the heavy loss.
