Earl Salyers, 84, of Ashland, beloved husband of Anna Tackett Salyers, went home to his Lord and Savior Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell following a sudden illness.
Earl was born April 6, 1932, in Salyersville, a son of the late Tony and Lillie Jane Cantrell Salyers.
He was a retired operator from Ashland Oil Inc. after 41 years of service.
Surviving in addition to his wife include two sons, Ricky Salyers and wife Trish and Michael E Salyers and Diana McCormick; three daughters, Vicky Haney and husband Clifford, Cathy Smith and husband Dennis and Lillian Pettrey and husband Steve; eight grandchildren, Derek, Michael B., Aaron, Jacob, Aaron, Daniel, Rebekah and John; five great-grandchildren, Lachlan, Levi, Lila, Morgan and Elizabeth. Earl was one of 10 children and is also survived by a sister, Avonell Meade.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Pastor Gary Salyers. Entombment will be in the Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Ashland.
