He was born on February 3, 1941 in Alamance County, NC to the late Clarence Walter and Elizabeth Watkins Ledford.
Robert was a veteran serving in the US Army. He enjoyed camping and being outdoors as well as music and writing songs. He loved spending time with his family and his dogs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Allene Hudspeth Ledford; sisters, Gladys “Marie” Athey, Norma “Jean” Bowes; grandson, Randal Canup.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Ledford Rollings, sister, Ruth D. Ingle; brothers, Calvin R. Ledford (Jeanette), W. Garland Ledford (Connie); grandson, David Canup.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 21, 2016. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Miles officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
