Catherine was the d/o Laney & Hannah (Pope) Funderburk, and wife of Barton Philpott. Catherine died on Dec 21 or 27, 1864. (date on tombstone illegible). Catherine was the mother of;
1. unidentified daughter born in 1829
2. DAVID ELKANNA PHILPOTT
3. MARY ELIZABETH PHILPOTT
4. NANCY ANN PHILPOTT
5. SAMUEL LANEY FUNDERBURK PHILPOTT
6. WILLIAM BLAIR PHILPOTT
7. ADDISON RIGGS PHILPOTT
8. LUCINDA SAMANTHA PHILPOTT
9. CATHERINE SUSAN PHILPOTT
10. ESTHER AMANDA PHILPOTT
11. BARTON ALEXANDER PHILPOTT
After Catharine's death in 1864 Barton moved to Vernon County, Wisconsin in the spring of 1865, then on to Benton County, Arkansas in 1874. He died there in 1887 and is buried in Coffelt Cemetery near his home in Mason Valley, Benton County, Arkansas.
