The death of Mrs. Rose Sweeney, removed one of Pittsford's most esteemed residents. Mrs. Sweeney had resided in this vicinity for fifty-five years and was the widow of John Sweeney, who died thirty years ago. Her birthplace was in county Tyrone, Ireland, eighty years ago. She had been in failing health for some time, and until ill health prevented was a regular attendant of St. Louis church of which she was a member. The funeral service was held Tuesday, at St. Louis Church, and interment in St. Mary's cemetery, Fairport, the services being conducted by her pastor, Rev. Louis Edelman. Children who survive are: Mrs. Lawrence Doyle, Mrs. John Voght, of Pittsford; James Sweeney of Bridgefield, Conn.; Frank of Union Hill, N. J.; Miss Anna Sweeney of Rochester; Miss Rose Sweeney of Pittsford; and Mrs. James Kavanaugh of Henrietta; also eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
