"Funeral services in memory of Joseph Spiegel were conducted at 10 o’clock yesterday forenoon from St. Walburga’s Catholic church, the rector, Rev. Joseph Naur celebrating the mass. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends and following the service, the remains were laid at rest in St. Catharine’s cemetery, the following acting as pall-bearers: Frank and Charles Spiegel, nephews, Benjamin Douglas, Clarence Highwood, sons-in-law Clarence Hosmer and Enos Eiseman. Among those present from far away were the following: The widow, Mrs. Anna Spiegel, four daughters, Mrs. Catherine Hywood, Miss Florence Spiegel, and Mrs. Marie Wyland of Toledo, O., and Mrs. Frances Douglass of Chicago, Ill., and four sisters, Mrs. Teresa Eisen of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Barbara Shrout of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Kate Kaufman of Azusa, Cal., and Mrs. Lena Hogue of Meadville, Enos and Albert Eiseman of Oil City."
