Funeral services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with pastor Steve Young officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Creek Cemetery, Walnut Creek. Friends may call Monday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 7, 1936, in Holmes County, the son of Elmer J. and Bertha Mae (Trachsel) Brown. Walter worked for several years at Apple Creek Developmental Center and for 12 years at GRH Forest Products in Berlin.
He loved country music and played and collected guitars.
Surviving are brothers, John H. Brown of Wooster, Elmer Junior (Katie) Brown of Millersburg and Dale Allen (Rosemarie) Brown of Stark County; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Marg; his parents; a brother, Kenneth (Arlene) Brown; and a sister-in-law, Ella Brown.
