Ophelia Faulkner Jones, 86, of Danville, died March 10, 2007, at Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation. Born June 24, 1920, in Boyle County, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Mattie Faulkner. She. was a faithful member of St. James AME Church, serving in many capacities, a graduate of Bate High School and a member of Order of Eastern Star Celestine No. 9. She had been employed as a cook at Jennie Rogers Elementary School, a nurse's aide at Kentucky State Hospital and had worked at Danville Youth Development Center.

She was the widow of James E. Jones. Survivors include two daughters, Ann "Kitty" (Ronald "Bo") Hawkins of Danville and the late Estella F. Jones; a son, James (Betty) Jones of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Catherine F. Napier of Danville; four grandchildren, and six step-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at St. James AME Church by the Rev. William Jenkins. Burial will be in Hill-dale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Grey, Donnie Redd, Albert Hawkins, Robbie Houston, Gregory Payne and Richard Caldwell. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Smith-Jackson. Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
