She passed away on December 22, 2017.
Wanda was educated in Hickman County Public School System. She graduated from O.H. Bernard High School in Centerville TN, and continued her education at Rutgers University in New Jersey.
Wanda began her career as a telephone operator for New Jersey Bell. She developed her professional skills and was promoted to a manager for AT&T. She transferred with her job to Washington D.C and remained employed with AT&T for more than 30 years.
Wanda was baptized at an early age at the Church of Christ at FT. Cooper in Hickman County, TN.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and Sister Shirley Christine Paden, and Brother Vanenia Laseth Grimes.
She is survived by his sisters Yvonne Grimes, Murfreesboro, Tn.; Carol Demonbreun , Nashville, Tn.; and Brothers James Ellis Grimes, FT. Cooper, Tn.; Nathaniel (Barbara) Grimes; Nashville, Tn.; Jesse Grimes, Louisville, Ky.; Carl (Tracy) Grimes, Spring Hill, Tn.; two Aunts Melba Hamler, Nashville, Tn.; Gladys Grimes, Norfolk, Va.; one Uncle Charles Grimes, Columbia Tn.; Devoted niece Shenita Hill, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
