Sue worked as a Home Economics teacher and cheerleading advisor at Hiland High School in her early professional years. She then transitioned to full-time homemaker to raise her children.
Sue’s two great passions were her work in music and quilt making. Sue was the director of the choir at the Sugarcreek First Mennonite Church for over 30 years. In addition, Sue directed the junior choir, organized summer music camps and workshops, and volunteered for leadership positions on committees in all aspects of church life.
Sue is survived by her, daughter, Myrna Jaberg of Columbus, OH, and son, David (Annette) Jaberg of Glencoe, IL, grandsons Reed James Jaberg (13), Caleb Robert Jaberg (6), and granddaughter Mallory Katharine Jaberg (11) and a sister Fyrne Overly of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. In addition to her parents, Alvin and Ida (Beachy) Miller, she is preceded in death by her brothers Wilson, James, Thomas, Luke, and her sisters Sarah Francis Lehman, Orpha Ellen Weaver.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at 1 p.m. in the First Mennonite Church at Sugarcreek. Burial will follow in the Walnut Creek Mennonite Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in Smith-Varns Funeral Home at 115 Andreas Dr., Sugarcreek.
