On Feb 26, 1916, he was married to Ida Beechy, who survives.
In June, 1926, he was ordained as minister to serve the Walnut Creek Church. He served as pastor from 1926 to 1941, and retired from active ministry in 1959, following a serious heart attack.
Also surviving are 3 sons (Wilson, James Allen, and Luke), 4 daughters (Sarah Frances - Mrs Carl Lehman, Orpha Ellen - Mrs Marion Weaver, Fyrne - Mrs Ronald Moore, and Sue - Mrs James Jaberg), 2 brothers (Orus W and Moses G), 2 sisters (Mrs Ida Yoder and Mrs Mary Ann Hershberger), and 17 grandchildren.
One son, one brother, and one sister preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Walnut Creek Church, where funeral services were held Jan 18, with Paul R Miller officiating, assisted by Eldon King.
