Cordelia Frances Davis was the daughter of James Davis and Nancy Hawkins. She married trice:

1. James Boyce, Sept. 15, 1849, Washington Co., Indiana.
2. Samuel C. Louden, Feb. 14, 1865, Washington Co., Indiana

Died, at her home in Owen township, June 6th 1889, Cordelia Louden, widow of Samuel C. Louden, with a complication of diseases and old age. She was interred in Pleasant Ridge cemeterv [afterward called Wray’s Chapel.] The funeral services were conducted by David Wright, of Pea Ridge.

She was born in Washington county Ind., in a fort and could give an interesting account of the first settling of this country and the many hardships that they had to endure and the many dangers that they passed through on account of the Indians and wild beasts that inhabited this country at that time.

Grandma has been taken from us, we feel our loss. She joined the Missionary Baptist church In early life and lived a consistent member of the same up to her death. She was the last one of a large family. and leaves two granddaughters and one grandson, the only relatives that she had, and a large number of friends to mourn their loss. She was 87 years, one month and 15 days old.
