"A distant cousin of mine named Roy Callaway who still lives in Indiana near Salem and grew up hearing stories of the Callaways and Davises once told me that it is believed that James Davis and his wife are in the Peugh Cemetery near Salem in unmarked graves. This is the cemetery where Micajah and Frankie are buried. It would make some sense for James Davis and his wife to be there as this would put the Hawkins sisters together in the same cemetery; they had lived their entire lives next door to each other. I have seen the old grave of James' son Elijah Davis in the Peugh Cemetery myself, right next to Micajah Callaway, Frankie Hawkins Callaway, and their children.

Roy told me James and his wife were right next to Elijah. However, I am not sure there is solid proof of this. This is an old cemetery and some headstones are missing. Roy has been familiar with the cemetery his whole life (he is nearly eighty years old) and remembers when the headstone of his own G-G-G-Grandfather Edmund Callaway disappeared (stolen?).
