Garland Lawing, 90, Lexington, died July 20, 2005 at his home.

He was a retired All-State insurance adjustor and a member of the North Park Baptist Church in Evansville, Ind.

Born in Wilson County, Tenn., he was a son of the late Nathan and Rosa Ann (Bowers) Lawing and the husband of Willie (Nixon) Lawing, who died March 29, 2005. They were married Feb. 13, 1937.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law — Betty and Fred Grimes, Bowling Green; Rosa and Virgil Rose, Gray Hawk (Ky.); and Judy Lynn Lawing, Richmond; a daughter-in-law, Juanita Lawing, Sahuarita, Ariz.; six grandchildren, one step-grandchild, 16 great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A son, Billy Joe Lawing; a sister, Juanita Schellhaus; and a brother, Robert Nathan Lawing, all preceded him in death.
