William Turner was the son of Samuel L. Turner & Mahala Jane Landis. He married Mora L. Ball on 27 Jul 1876 at Laclede County, Missouri. He married Margaret A. (Maggie) Furr on 5 Jan 1887 at Marion County Indiana. Maggie was born 23 May 1866, Marion Co. IN.

This is the former Turner residence as it was in 1929. Maude Turner Walthall had written on the back of this photo: "The home of Maude Turner Walthall at Lebanon Mo" and "25 yrs after papa's death".

This is William F. Turner and his first wife, Mora L. Ball. It is a tintype and may well have been their wedding photo. According to the old Turner family bible they were married on July 27, 1876 in Orla, Missouri by Judge H. E. Warren.

I would estimate that this photo was taken in the late summer or early fall of 1895.

My grandmother, Maud Inez Turner (Walthall), is the taller girl in dark the dress. Her elder sister, Effie, is standing to her left. They were children of Mr. Turner's first marriage.

The younger children are L2R: Alma, Clarissa, and Roy.

The youngest child, Fay, is either not in the photograph or is in the buggy out of view.

Fay was born June 29, 1896 and lived only until July 8.

The buggy may have been included in the photo to denote the anticipated birth or to denote Fay's absense.
