Edward Stafford of rural Galena, a lifelong farmer in Rice Township, died October 27, 1976 at home.

He was born Dec. 1, 1886, in Council Hill Township, Jo Daviess County to Robert and Mary (Campbell) Stafford.

He married Lucille Mougin in October 1915 at Galena. She died April 7, 1956.

Edward was survived by two sons, Lawrence and Robert, both of rural Galena; a daughter, Mrs. Carlyle (Mae) Schumacher of Rockford; three grandchildren; and a sister, Miss Katherine of rural Galena.

Funeral service were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Steinke Funeral, Home. The Rev. Roger Cheek, pastor of Galena United Methodist Church was officiant. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery, rural Galena.
