Roy served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He graduated from Kansas State College with a BS degree in Agricultural Administration and a MS degree in Economics. He worked for International Harvestor for a time but most of his career was with the Bureau of Reclamation, starting in 1950 as an agricultural economist. In 1961, he was one of 10 men chosen from the entire U.S.B.R. to participate in the Bureau's first managerial development program in Washington, D.C. At his retirement, he was Assistant Regional Director of Lower Colorado Region. He was a member of Grace Community Church. In 1963, he served as president of the Boulder Dam Credit Union and on the Boulder City Hospital Board for four years in the 90's.
Roy's family was the most important thing in his life and he was "generous to a fault." He was a quiet, humble person and had a great sense of humor. Roy was survived by his wife, a son, a daughter, four grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
Memorial was Saturday June 22, at Grace Community Church, 1150 Wyoming St., Boulder City, NV 89005.
