SERVICES SUNDAY AT NIPPA FOR KITTIE WILCOX
Mrs. Kittie Hampton Wilcox, 62, died in a local hospital Friday, July 11, after an illness of two weeks. The daughter of William and Alice Patrick Hampton, she was born in Johnson County October 23, 1895, and was a resident of Auxier prior to moving to Waverly, Ohio, thirteen years ago. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. She was married forty-five years ago to Levi Wilcox, who survives. Other survivors include three sons, Robert Wilcox, Waverly, Ohio; Russell Wilcox, Hillsboro, Ohio; Ivelgene, Wilcox, Jamestown, Ohio; three daughters Bessie Fannin, Van Lear; Ruth Rice, Tucumcari, N. M.; Dorothy Lawill, Jamestown, Ohio; one brother, Henry Hampton, Circleville, Ohio; one sister, Lizzie Terry, Columbus, O. Funeral services were conducted from the Freewill Baptist Church at Nippa at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 13, with Claude Preston and Millard Van Hoose as officiating ministers. Music was by the Toms Creek Quartet. Burial was in the family cemetery at Nippa. Paintsville Herald Wednesday July 16, 1958

Levi Wilcox, 70 of Van Lear (Johns Creek), died Sept 1, 6:35 p.m. in the Lexington Hospital of an illness of one week. Born April 4, 1895, he was the son of the late Robert and Lydia Patrick Wilcox. He was employed as a miner amd was married to Reva Jane Wilcox,who survives. He is also survived by four sons, Robert Wilcox of Wabash,Indiana; Russell Wilcox of Hillsboro,Ohio; Gene Wilcox of U.S. Air Force - Far East; and Richard Wilcox of Van Lear; six daughters, Mrs.Bessie Fannin, Miss.Joan Wilcox, Miss Emma Jane Wilcox Miss Betty Joyce Wilcox, all of Van Lear; Mrs. Ruth Rice of Tucumcari N.M; and Mrs.Dorothy Lawwill of Jamestown, Ohio; brothers and sisters, John Wilcox and Dora Wilcox of Wittensville; Mrs Tavie Daniels and Mrs. Flossie VanHoose of Paintsville; Mrs. Josie McKenzie of Catlettsburg, and Mrs. Delphia Ratliff of Columbus,Ohio. Funeral services were held Sept 4, 2:00 p.m. at the Mouth of Rush Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Heyburn officiating. Burial was held at Nippa in the family cemetery under the direction of the Jones- Preston Funeral Home. Paintsville Herald Wednesday September 8,1965
