Verdis Ousley, age 56, of Hueysville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2006 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on March 30, 1950 in Floyd County. He was the son of the late Zeb & Eula Mae Baldridge Ousley. He was a disabled coal miner and a member of the Saltlick Community Church at Hueysville. He is survived by a son: Mark Douglas Ousley of Louisville, Ky.; five brothers: Virgil Ousley of Martin, Lenvil Ousley of Jackson, Ohio, Larry Ousley of Pierceton, Indiana, Andrew Ousley of Garrett & Bill Ousley of Martin; four sisters: Bula Patton of Martin, Sally F. Ousley of Shaftsburg, Michigan, Sandra Osborne of Martin and Loretta Ward of Price; and a host of nieces & Nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin with Carlos Beverly officiating. Visitation will be Monday May 1st at 6 p.m. at the funeral home, and burial will be in the Ousley Cemetery in Martin.
