Charles “Chuck” Gary Hixson, 74, passed away at the Lucas County Health Center, Chariton, Iowa on St. Patrick's Day, Tuesday, 17 March 2020.
Chuck was born at the Yocum Hospital, Chariton, Iowa on Sunday, 16 December 1945, to Arthur Burton and Lorene Delois (Davis) Hixson. He attended Chariton public schools and was a graduate of Chariton High School, Class of 1964.
Left to cherish his memory are Chuck's wife, Sandra Hixson, of Chariton; his best friend and beloved buddy--his dog, Beau Hixson; daughter, Sharla S. (Roger) Rew-Anderson, of Williamson, Iowa; grandson, Caleb Rew, of Kansas City, Missouri; and great-granddaughter, Novala Nicole Downing, of Chariton. Also surviving Chuck are his sisters, Phyllis (Don) Adams, of Des Moines, Iowa and Mildred J. Wlliams, of Ames, Iowa; brothers-in-law, Tom (Carol) Jurgens, Dave Jurgens and Ron (Susan) Jurgens; and several nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, Arthur and Lorene Hixson, Chuck was predeceased by his brother, Darl Hixson and granddaughter, Cydnie Hixson.
Private family graveside services will be held in the Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice, Iowa on Friday, 12 June 2020, under the direction of the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel, Beatrice.
