HIXSON
Arthur Burton Hixson, oldest son of Glenn E. and Mildred Dukes Hixson, was born September 17, 1910 in Lucas County, Iowa and passed away May 22, 1988 at the age of 77 years, eight months and 26 days, at the Knoxville Community Hospital.
On March 1, 1936 he was married to Lorene Davis. To this union four children were born, Darl, Phyllis, Charles and Jolene.
He spent his entire life in the Lucas County area as a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lorene and two brothers, Carl and Ralph.
Surviving are his children Darl and wife Barbara, Phyllis and husband Don Adams, Charles, Jolene and husband Ronnie Beadle; eight grandchildren, one brother, Everett of Chariton, two sisters, Flossie Sams of Des Moines and Louise Ambelang of Chariton.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 1988 at the Fielding Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Mueller officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Jon Adams, Nick Adams, Kevin Hixson, Jamie Beadle and Greg Burzette. Interment was in the Russell Cemetery.
