She was born in Harts Creek WV on August 24, 1931, a daughter of the late Willis & Roxie Dalton Adkins.
She was the Co-Owner and bookkeeper for Carpenter Concrete, a former employee of Logan General Hospital and attended the Racoon Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband, John Carpenter; two sons, Richard Carpenter and Robert "Bobby" Carpenter; four brothers, Denver Adkins, Jennings Adkins, Arnold Adkins and Larry Adkins; three sisters, Carrie Christian, Emerald Fleming and Doris Ross and a son in law, Hobert Bowling.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Bowling of Raceland, Weni Carpenter and Beverly Daugherty and her husband Lance both of Flatwoods; a sister, Clara Frances Wallace of Huntington; two daughter in laws, Robin Carpenter and Linda Carpenter both of Greenup; ten grandchildren, Regina (Brian) Boyle, Teresa (Matt) Crum, Lisa (Chris) Boggs, Kristin (Nathan) Ball, Bobbie Lynn (Josh) Clark, Jesse (Sara) Carpenter, Samantha (Tracy) Archie, Richard Nathan Carpenter, Samuel Blake Daugherty and Trenton Kyle Daugherty; eleven great grandchildren, Seth Boyle, Sean Boyle, Haley Boggs, Logan Boggs, Lakin Crum, Ella Crum, Ethan Crum, Ben Walter, Malachi Ball, Ezekiel Ball and Abigail Traylor along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Wright's Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brother Bill Oaks.
Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Cemetery in Ashland KY.
Visitation will be from 9:30 AM till the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
