Haston Whitaker, 78 years, two months and twenty-five days, of Shepherdsville, KY passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020. Born on July 10, 1942 in Jeremiah, KY to the late Aaron Whitaker, Sr. and Delpha Caudill Whitaker. He was a member of Lone Valley Church since 1969. He served the office of assistance clerk of the Indian Bottom Association for 25 years and assistant moderator for a number of years. Daddy devoted his life to serving the Lord Jesus Christ and spread his word throughout the land. Never having missed an Association meeting until this year.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mildred Frances Stamper Whitaker of Shepherdsville, KY; one son, Michael Dwayne Whitaker, Sr. (Marcia) of Taylorsville, KY; one daughter, Alice Annette Whitaker Pollard of Shepherdsville, KY; two brothers, Harvey Whitaker, Sr. (Louanza) and Aaron Whitaker, Jr. (Jeanette); three sisters, Elizabeth Price, Maxine Blair and Janet Caudill; five grandchildren, Michael Dwayne Whitaker, Jr., Amy Lynn Moore, Jesse Paul Whitaker, Josephine Paige Pollard and Ricky Andrew Pollard, Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Waylon, Molly, Beau and Persephone; and thirteen nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron Whitaker, Sr. and Delphia Caudill Whitaker, one brother, Hansford Whitaker and one sister, Maisie Adams.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, Ky. Following the visitation there will be church service beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, Ky. Funeral will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. with Elder Ralph Cloud, Elder Raymond Cloud, Elder Willis Tolliver and Elder Kevin Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY.
