Enlisted, December 2, 1910, in Troop 1, Squadron A Cavalry. NYNG, at the Madison Avenue Armory, New York City.

December 6, 1911, Squadron A was reviewed by Hon. Henry L, Stimson, Secretary of War.

April 11, 1912, his Troop formed part of the escort for the remains of Major General Philip Kearny.

May 25, 1912, Squadron A was visited by President William Taft and Major General O' Ryan.

He was discharged from Squadron A in 1913.

World War 1, he entered service, October 15, 1918, and attended FAOTS, at Camp Taylor, KY. Do to the war ending he was not commissioned and discharged November 28, 1918.
