He received his education from St. Francis Borgia. On September 22, 1956, he was united in marriage to Ruth Hoelscher at St. Francis Borgia Church in Washington. Emil served his country honorably as a member of the United States Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Doris Buhr, Raymond Huxel, and David Huxel.
Among his survivors are his wife, Ruth Ann Huxel of Washington; two children, Tina Schlitt and husband Don Carrell and Jeff Huxel; siblings, Robert Huxel, Mary Hellmann, and Mike Konys and wife Darlene; grandchildren, Jessie, Makenzie, Mikala, Raven, Jackson, Christopher, Jennifer, and Heather; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Jayden, Jenna, Noah, Dalton, Kiyah, and Adilyn; other relatives and friends.
