He worked at Calvary Cemetery and as a laborer and truck driver for Cutler Magner for many years. He was a faithful member of St. John's Church. Gene loved to fish, hunt, woodwork, and play cards, especially cribbage. He enjoyed making people laugh, rooting for the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings, scenic car rides, spending time with his family and helping them with home improvement projects.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary; daughter and her husband, Sharon and Don LaLonde; granddaughter, Kelly LaLonde; siblings, Mildred, Eleanor, Gerald, Clarence and Irene; and special friend, Joyce.
Gene is survived by his children: Rosemary (Wayne) Larsen, Gerald (Rose) Preiner, Jeff (Kim) Preiner and Teresa (Douglas) Royer; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren with one more on the way; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
