A graduate of Rider College, he was an Army war veteran who served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. Subsequently, he was employed by Amerada Hess for 35 years.
Alexander loved Nantucket Island, playing golf, Atlantic City slot machines, and reality shows about home improvement. He was a beloved member of the local community, which would look forward to his annual barbeques, "Sundaes & Sangria", and his appearance each Halloween dressed as "The Scientist".
A loving husband, Alexander was survived by his wife to whom he was married for 51 years. He was also survived by his two sons, four grandchildren, and two sisters.
