Born at his home in Glen Alum, WV on February 6, 1936, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Anna Lendaro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of more than 56 years, Frances Ann (Hatfield) Lendearo, his sister, Marcellina Lendaro, his brother, Basil Lendaro, and his son-in-law, Marvin Davis.
Joe was a retired coal miner, having more than 40 years in the mines. He was a hard worker and always found a way to provide for his family no matter what. He was also an excellent brick mason and built the house in which he brought up his family.
In his spare time, Joe enjoyed gardening and sharing whatever he grew. He was a master "tinkerer." He loved spending time with family and friends, often regaling them with his tales ranging from growing up in Glen Alum to his time working in the coal mines.
Those left behind to love and cherish his memory, a son: Mark Anthony Lendearo and his wife, Gail, of Delbarton, WV; daughters: Mrs. Monica A. Davis, of Wharncliffe, WV, Mary Sue Mounlio and her husband, Todd, of Varney WV, and Betty Ruth Smith and companion, Elster Newsome, of Williamson, WV; Grandchildren: Timothy Joseph Hatfield and his wife, Miranda; Hannah Brooke Hatfield; Mark Anthony Lendearo II and his wife Maryann; Bryan Matthew Lendearo and his wife, Andrea; and James Tyler Lendearo and his wife Peyton. He also leaves behind 6 great-grandchildren; Mabel, Sawyer and Piper Lendearo, Baylee Lendearo, Fiona and Leo Lendearo; and a special nephew, Reverend James Nagy, who he considered as his son.
Friends may gather with the family Saturday December 11, 2021 at the Ben Creek Free Pentecostal Holiness Church of God from 6-9 PM for visitation.
