Seychellois Statesman. He served as the Vice President of the Seychelles from July 14, 2004 until June 30, 2010, he was a member of his countries political party United Seychelles. In his political career he was also the Minister for Labour and Social Security from 1982 to 1985, Minister of Manpower and Social Services on two occasions, as well as Minister of Health and Social Services and Minister of Administration and Manpower, Minister for Industries and International Business from 1998 to 1999. He retired in 2010 from politics.
