LEXINGTON, KY - Cecil Ditty, 71, of Delbarton, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1988, in the Lucille Parker Markey Cancer Center in Lexington. Born Oct. 7, 1916 in Van Lear, KY., he was preceded in death by parents, William and Catherine (Plummer) Ditty; his first wife Sarah Castle; and several brothers and sisters. A retired mine foreman with Island Creek Coal Co., he was a member of Van Lear Masonic Lodge 885 AF & AM and attended Connolly Memorial Baptist Church in Delbarton. Survivors include his wife, Betty (Cooper) Ditty of Delbarton; two sons, Eddie Lee Ditty of Jackson, Ky., and Donnie Ditty of Fayetteville, N.C.; four daughters, Janet Ferguson of Waverly, Ohio, Robyn Roberson of Delbarton and Sandra Edwards of Gallipolis Ferry, W. Va.; a sister, Virginia Kelly of Paintsville, Ky.; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 1988, at Connolly Memorial Baptist Church in Delbarton with the Rev. Ralph Farley officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens at Maher. Friends may call at Chafin Funeral Home in Delbarton from 6-9 p.m. Sunday.
