Carolyn Warchol passed away at Overlook Hospital surrounded by the love of her family and friends after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was 75
Carolyn grew up in Garwood and lived here most of her life with her husband of 49 years, Dennis. Carolyn graduated from Alvernia College with a Bachelor's Degree in teaching. Carolyn was a lifelong educator, teaching at St. John's the Apostle School in Clark & CYO summer camps at Mother Seton before retiring from teaching to be a stay-at-home mom. After both boys were in school, Carolyn started working for Precision Press as a part time collating/copy person in the print shop, eventually moving to a book keeper position where she worked until she retired. Carolyn was very community minded, volunteering for various committees and boards through the years, most recently the library board and the Garwood 100th Anniversary committee. Carolyn was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters Daniella, Alyssa, and Lydia.
Carolyn was predeceased by her mother Helen and father Charles Galiszewski; her sister Rita Podraza; and her brothers Charles R. Galiszewski and George Galiszewski.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; and her sons Daniel (Charlene) and David (Nicole); 3 Granddaughters, Daniella, Alyssa, and & Lydia; as well as her brother Thomas Galiszewski and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
