Brooker - Mrs. Nancy Juanita Jakab, 77 of Brooker, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, in Gainesville. She was born November 2, 1943, in Lawtey to Aaron and Rosie (Muse) Sumner. Mrs. Jakab was a homemaker and member of Symrna Baptist Church in Starke where she taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed cake decorating and was known for her delicious and beautiful wedding cakes she had made. Mrs. Jakab also enjoyed growing roses and working in the garden. She loved children and was known to babysit on many occasions. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by nine siblings. Mrs. Jakab leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of nearly 61 years Zoltan Jakab and their three daughters Penny Banning (Chuck) of Williston, Terri Jakab-Barker of Gainesville, and Doreen Myers (Harold) of Sevierville, Tennessee. Also left behind is a daughter of the heart Barbara Gilpin (Ralph) of Keystone Heights. She was lovingly called "Nana" by Amy Arrington, Kyle Barker (Jessica), Bailee Barker, Kaleb Myers, Marley Myers, and Emma Banning along with her great-grandson Braxton Barker. Funeral Services for Mrs. Jakab will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021, in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Brother Charles Starling officiating. Interment will follow at Dedan Cemetery.
