Death of Mrs. J. G. Carroll

Mrs. J. G. Carroll died suddenly at her home in this city Tuesday night, at the advanced age of 75 years. She had been in declining health for several years.

The deceased was the wife of the late Dr. J. G. Carroll, and though she had lived a retired life since the death of her husband, she was beloved and esteemed by a large circle of friends throughout the county.

Her death closed a long and useful life. She lived to see her sons and daughters grow up to stations of prominence and usefulness.

The surviving members of the family are Hon. Thos. Carroll, Circuit Judge of the First District of Mississippi, John G. Carroll, a well known chemist of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. J. D. Hollinshead, of this county, Mrs. W. P Ellett, of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and Miss Maude Carroll, who resided with her mother at the time of her death.

The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the residence, conducted by Rev. W. A. Jordan, pastor of the Baptist church, of which denomination Mrs. Carroll was a life-long member.
