Phoebe Carter Brooks married Thomas Battle Williams, and their 1st child, Mary Elizabeth Williams, was born 10/28/1837, and lived only 7 years. Their 2nd child, Narcissa Elizabeth Williams, was born in 1841, and lived until 1916 (called "Aunt Cissy" by my grandfather). Narcissa Williams married Dr. John Gillespie Carroll; their son, Judge Thomas Battle Carroll's history of the area is well-circulated. Judge Thomas Battle Carroll also interviewed and corresponded with other descendants of Allen Brooks & composed an article about the family between 1900 & 1909 that James Brooks Christoffersen has a 1927 photostat copy of portions thereof.
Mr. Williams died in 1841, and Phoebe married Jeff Gray 5/21/1842 in Lowndes Co., Miss.
