Wife of Rev. William Wonder
OBITUARY
Mrs Margaret Shock was born in Union County, Pennsylvania, June 2, 1827 and died at her home in Blue Springs Nebraska Jan 23, 1913, aged 85 years, six months and 20 days. In 1848 at Flat Rock, Ohio she was married to William Wonder. To this union were born five children, three sons and two daughters, the two daughters having preceeded her to the spirit world. The three sons James A Wonder, Charles O Wonder and Savannah B Wonder, all three of Western Colorado, nine grandchildren, eight great grand children remain to mourn their loss.
Sister Wonder was converted in her youth and United with the Evangelical Church of which she remained faithful member until her death. She is the widow of Rev. William Wonder who was an active pioneer minister for 21 years, preaching in all about 30 years. Sister Wonder was acquainted with the outs and ins of an itinerate preachers wife. She was much interested in her grand daughter, Miss Lettie Criseman, missionary to Ecuador, South America and contributed to her financial support.
The services were conducted by the pastor Rev. Heldman assisted by Rev. Haskins and the M E Church, Rev. W M Taylor and Rev. John Taylor of the Baptist Church. The remains were laid to rest in the Blue Springs Cemetery.
