J. R. Corne passed away at his daughters home in Denton, TX on January 10th, 2023. He was born in Palestine, Texas on August 6, 1930 to Claude Lucian Corne and Ada Viola Rodgers. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of more than 45 years, Lucille Corne on December 23, 2011, three brothers and one sister.

J. R. graduated from Palestine High School in 1947 and Nixon's Business College in Palestine in 1948. He had resided at Red Lake since 1982.

He then moved to Dallas where he worked for Dr Pepper Company at their National Headquarters from 1962 to 1974, serving at various times as Coop Advertising Manager, Assistant Purchasing Manager and Administrative Assistant.

From 1976 to 1982, he served as Deputy Sheriff in the Dallas County Sheriff's Department, when he semi-retired and moved to Red Lake, which he had owned since 1960 and visited regularly while living in Dallas. He owned and operated B&A Security, Inc. in Corsicana from 1982 to 2000, at which time he totally retired.

J.
