Born in Cabell County, Virginia before West Virginia statehood to John T and Anna France, James France 16 appears on 1850 census, Cabell, VA with his mother Anna 42, and siblings James 16, Roxie A 12, Julia A 12, Rebecca A 8 and Benjamin 5.
His father died before this census and his mother is purported to be Anna Harrison or Stevens however unable to verify.
James France 25 a farmer is listed on the 1860 census, Cabell County, VA with Ann 35, Julia 21 and Benjamin 16. (who is Ann? if his mother then age is incorrect)
Their mother Anna died Jan 23, 1863 and she may also be buried this cemetery.

James France 36 a farmer and his wife Viley 37 are listed on 1870 census, Barboursville, Cabell WV with their children Lidia 6, William 4 and Henry L 2 and Roxy 1 and his brother Benjamin 25 a farmer.
