Pauline Wolford Ball Johnston, age 90, of Decatur, died on Tuesday March 14, 2023.

Pauline was born in Phelps, Kentucky to Homer and Annie Hager Wolford on December 31st, 1932. Pauline was the oldest of 5 children. She graduated from high school from Burch High School, and she sang a solo at the baccalaureate service. She received a bachelor's degree from Concord University and a master's degree from the University of North Alabama. She was a teacher for 25 years in Decatur's City School System. Pauline's hobbies were music, art, horticulture, and spending time at her and Lloyd's lake house.

She is survived by her husband Lloyd Johnston, her two sons Jim Ball and Steve Ball, her sister Shirley Avena, and her brother Bill Hubbard.

Funeral services will be held on Friday March 17, 2023 at 2pm in the chapel of Shelton Funeral Home with Bro Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Decatur City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on that day from 12pm until 2pm at the funeral home.
