Carter to Marshall Carter and his wife Nellie Bushrod Carter in Louisville, Kentucky, on February 14, 1888, another source says February 14, 1895. He played the position of infielder, third baseman, and shortstop, with the New York Black Sox making his professional debut with them in 1910. The infielder, third baseman, and shortstop, who threw right also played with the Louisville White Sox in 1914. His 162 Game Average consisted of 648 Plate Appearances, 648 At Bats, 108 Runs Scored, 216 Hits, 54 Doubles, O Triples, O Homeruns, 216 Runs Batted In, O Stolen Bases, O Caught Stealing, O Walks, O Hits By Pitch, O Sacrifice Hits, O Sacrifice Flies, O Grounded Into Double Plays, .333 Batting Average Hits/At Bats, .333 On Base Percentage, .417 Slugging Percentage, .750 On Base Percentage Plus Slugging Percentage, and 102 Adjusted On Base Percentage Plus Slugging Percentage. After leaving professional baseball he worked as a decorator until his death. He passed away from unknown causes in Chicago, Illinois, on April 20, 1942, at the age of about 54. Following his death, he was buried in Burr Oak Cemetery in Alsip, Illinois. He was married to Fannie Burnett Carter in Chicago, Illinois, on September 6, 1922, and they were together until his death. The couple had no children together.
