She was born Aug. 30, 1941, in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Garancheski) Lutz.
Margaret attended the former St. Joseph's Elementary School and was a graduate of the former Coal Township High School.
In 1960, she married Andrew "Sonny" Bendas, who preceded her in death Aug. 25, 2011.
She had been employed at the former Shamokin Shoe Factory and later at the Arrow Shirt Factory in Paxinos.
Margaret was of the Catholic faith.
She cared for all animals.
Survivors include a daughter, Andrea M. Forbes and her husband, John, of Coal Township; a granddaughter, Andreena M. Forbes, of Chambersburg; a brother, Henry "Harry" Lutz, of Coal Township; and nieces and nephews.
