Rev. Larry Perkins, 86 of Topton, NC, passed away, Thursday, July 20, 2023.
He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late Clay and Maude Shope Perkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Perkins in 1976.
Larry's primary occupation was Auto Body Repair and he owned and operated his business for several years in Robbinsville. Larry was an ordained minister and pastored two churches in Graham County, Cedar Cliff Baptist Church, Santeetlah Baptist Church, and the Old Country Church in Topton, NC.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patsy Perkins; daughter, Ann O'Connell of Galveston, TX; a son-in-law Kevin O' Connell of Galveston, TX, Grandchildren, Katie Gdanitz of Geshan, OR, Sarah O'Connell of League City, TX. Two step children, Tim Michael of Clayton, GA, Tessa Sawdy of Murphy, NC. 3 step grandchildren, and 5 step great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The Reverend Jimmy Millsaps will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Valleytown Cemetery in Andrews, NC.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am till 12:00 pm at the Townson-Smith Chapel prior to the service.
