Constance Ann (Mitchell) Everitt, age 79, of Joplin, passed away on October 4, 2023 at her home.

When Connie was born on August 8, 1944, the world became a brighter place. With a heart of gold, she would do anything for anyone, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren! She was an incredibly wise and hard-working woman who never complained. While raising her children, Connie did without to give her kids a little extra. Connie treasured her family. She adored her 4 grandchildren and 6 ½ great-grandchildren.

Connie grew up in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. She met her husband, Albert Ray Everitt, in Columbus, Georgia, while working as a waitress. They married in 1963. Albert was in the military, so their family relocated frequently. She worked at Dawson Cabinet Co. and Big Smith Manufacturing for many years. Connie enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and in Europe. She loved visiting national parks and monuments. In later years she enjoyed researching family history.

Connie was a cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother (Oma) and aunt. She was a ray of sunshine and always had a kind word for everyone. Words cannot express how much she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The world is a darker place without her.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Albert in 2009, father Robert Mitchell 1976, mother Leora Whiteford Mitchell 1992, brothers Robert Mitchell 2005, Harry Mitchell 2018, sisters Mary Mitchell 1937, Virginia Rust 2022, grandson Tyler Everitt 2016, and stepson Albert Everitt Jr. in 2020.

Connie is survived by her three children, Constance L. Everitt, Cynthia Everitt, and Robert Everitt, all of Joplin, sister Shirley Cassady and brother Gary Mitchell, both of Oronogo ; grandchildren, Blake Everitt of Joplin, Elizabeth Jahns (Matt Kurfman) of Kansas City, and Paige Weaver (Sean) of Fayetteville, AR; great-grandchildren, Grayson Brown, Emma and River Everitt, and Cooper, Watson, Finley, and unborn baby Weaver; and beloved sister in law Carol and husband Glenn Arrowood of Carthage.

The Everitt family is grateful for the compassionate hospice care provided by Ellie and Alisha. A memorial service will be held in the spring.

Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Simpson Funeral Home. The family encourages relatives and friends to visit www.simpsonfh.com to share photos and memories of Constance.
