Stan Robinson, 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to all, passed away on January 28, 2015. Stan was born in 1931 in Mt. Kisco, New York where he started his career as a radio broadcaster in 1949. He later moved to Ohio where he was a radio and television personality for the next six decades and celebrated his 66th year in broadcasting on January 15, 2015. He was the first weatherman on WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio and ended his illustrious career with his radio show "Midday with Stan," which aired daily on WFCO-FM in Lancaster. Known as 'The Voice of Fairfield County,' Stan was loved by all for his many contributions to the community and his generous friendship and help to others. Stan was preceded in death by his beloved wife Zelma (Zee), and is survived by his seven children, Randy, Kevin (Carolyn), Pam (Greg Blair), Lisa (Kevin Decot), Rebecca, Nicole (Kevin Holland), and Claudia (Dale Bartow); 23 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was a family man first, but Stan also loved his community and shared his special talent for helping others in numerous ways. He was an honorary lifetime member of the Charity Newsies and a member of the F.O.E. Aries 2120, FOP, Lancaster Kiwanis, and the Fairfield County Fair Board. During his 12 years on the television show "Town and Country" on the LSN local cable network and his radio show on WFCO-FM, Stan provided a community service to countless organizations by giving them air time to share their stories and help their causes. In 2011, Stan was inducted into the Ohio Associated Press Broadcasters Hall of Fame and Governor Kasich recognized him with an achievement award on the occasion of his 65th anniversary in broadcasting in 2014. Stan literally touched the lives of thousands of people by doing what he did best every day of his life. A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Faith Memorial Church, 2610 W. Fair Ave., Lancaster, OH 43130 with Pastor Steve Rauch officiating. Caring Cremation® is being handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OH 43130. Friends may visit Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Faith Memorial Church.
