Age 81, of Stillwater, MN Died on November 27, 2016 after struggling with COPD and lung cancer. Bob was born in Boston MA. He lived in that area for many years, attended Boston College High School and Boston College. He received his Master's degree from the University of Massachusetts in 1959 and his PhD in 1966 from Kansas State University. His proudest achievement was meeting and marrying Miss Elizabeth Ann Swigert (Denver, CO) in 1965. He taught microbiology at McNeese State University. He then worked as a microbiologist for Becton, Dickinson and Co. at their Research Center in their Research Triangle Park facility in Durham, NC. He went to work with 3M Co. in St Paul and continued his microbiology work at their Maplewood, MN facility until his retirement in 1999. Preceded in death by sister, Rosemarie. Survived by wife of 53 years, Betty; children, Ben and Becky; grandchildren, Alea, Ethan, Erika and Ella. Service Tuesday, December 6, 11:00 A.M. at ST.
