Allen (AJ) Jones of Walton, KY, age 65, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. The son of the late Winston Jones and Betty {Biddle} Jones, Allen was born in Covington, KY on August 19, 1958. He was a retired self-employed electrician (All-Brite Electric 1985-2022). AJ was an active board member with the Walton Fire Protection District. He served on the Kenton County Fair Board as prior president and prior vice president for many years. AJ had many friends and was known for having a "Happy Life Well Lived". AJ enjoyed many interests including model trains, farming (tractors), county fair – FFA- 4H work, TV, movies, music, and socializing with family and friends. He most of all treasured the time spent with his beloved granddaughters. AJ recently received the "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the Kenton County Fair Association, Recognition Award of his continued years of service to Walton Fire Protection District, Citation of Appreciation from Commonwealth of Kentucky for exemplary service to his community, and a Proclamation from Boone County Fiscal Court for devoted time and talents to supporting many organizations, agencies, and services.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Rita Jones; son, Casey Jones; granddaughters, Raelyn Jones and Brooklyn Jones; his brother, Bruce (Patty) Jones; as well as several other friends and relatives who will cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, AJ was preceded in death by his grandparents Ray and Helen Jones and Frank and Mildred Biddle.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at First Baptist Church Walton, 47 South Main Street, Walton, KY 41094. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church Walton. Immediately following the service, AJ will be laid to rest at Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge, KY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Miniature Buddies or to the Walton Fire District, P.O. Box 007 Walton, KY 41094, or the Kenton County Fair Association Inc., P.O. Box 101 Independence, KY 41051.
