PALM BEACH - Anita R Hoefs, 77, of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away on Sunday December 17, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd Hoefs and sister Kathy Barry. Anita has left many family and dear friends with wonderful memories and our prayers are for her to now be free of pain and her sweet sprit, to always be with us.
Anita was born on February 8, 1946, in Charlotte, NC, to JD and Anita Rowell and shortly after her birth, her family moved to West Palm Beach. She attended Forest Hill High school and Palm Beach State College before starting her thirty year career at Bell South. While working for Bell South she met the love of her life, Floyd Hoefs and instantly became a stepmom to five and special "nanny" to a multitude of grandchildren, that she loved dearly.
Anita was a devoted member of the the Order of the Eastern Star, Iretta Sherman Chapter #145, Ladies Oriental Shrine, Zem Zem Court and served as High Priestess (1994) and Queen of Aquarius Temple in 2015. She and her late husband were very devoted to the Shriners mission to help children in need.
She is survived by her loving sister, Diana Deviney; five step children, Sandi Bowers (Dave), Richard Hoefs (Deborah), Charles Hoefs (Connie), Cindi Palmer (Larry) and John Hoefs (Nancy); 10 step grandchildren; and 5 step great grandchildren.
