Myron Haroldson, 90, of Thief River Falls, MN died on Sunday, January 21, 2007 at the Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Alemayehu Tulu officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, January 26, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service on Friday evening. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.


Myron Haroldson was born October 11, 1916 the family farm, in Moose River Township, Marshall County, MN, the son of Christ and Marie (Aase) Haroldson. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith and attended Country School in Marshall County.

Myron was united in marriage to Palma "Polly" Evelyn Salveson, June 12, 1937 in Newfolden, MN. The couple lived and farmed in the Gatzke area. In 1951 Myron and Palma moved into Thief River Falls. Over the years Myron worked driving truck for Stordahl Trucking, drove Greyhound Bus, was a Pennington County Deputy Sheriff and eventually went to work for the Soo Line Railroad, working as Law Enforcement Agent, Fire Marshall, then as claims adjustor. He retired in the late 1970's. That job took he and his family from Thief River Falls, to Minneapolis, Enderlin, ND and back to Thief River Falls.

Myron loved to hunt and fish over the years. He enjoyed retirement at the home he had built at Sandy Shores on Lake of the Woods. Polly died on March 27, 1991. He married Ragna Aune Anderson on August 22, 1992 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls and the couple continued to live in Thief River Falls.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Elks Club in Thief River Falls.

Myron is survived by his wife, Ragna, Thief River Falls, MN; two children: Merlyn (Betty) Haroldson, Wausau, WI and Clair (Chris) Haroldson, Sun Prairie, WI; three grandchildren: Brandon (Becky) Haroldson, Wichita, KS, Todd Haroldson, Rockhill, SC and Kyle Haroldson, Sun Prairie, WI; two great grandchildren: Christopher Haroldson and Peter Haroldson; two step daughters: Sharon (Ken) Wagner and Karen (Leon) Johnson all of Thief River Falls, MN; six step grandchildren: Lisa (Marty) Johnson, Thief River Falls, Lana (Scott) Crawford, Forest Lake, MN, Lora (Jake) Rantanen, Thief River Falls, Paul Johnson, Thief River Falls, Kim Johnson, Minnetonka, MN and Keith Johnson, Thief River Falls; five step great grandchildren, Ethan and Erin Johnson, Mariah and Megan Crawford, and Kendal Rantanen; and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Polly; his parents; sisters and brothers: Mildred Nelson, Jay Haroldson and Lillian Backlund.
