Fredrick Paulson, 86, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M.on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at United Lutheran Church in Gatzke, MN with Reverend Sandra Hollands officiating. Burial will be in Moose River Cemetery, Rollis Township, Marshall County, Minnesota.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Fredrick "Fred" Lawrence Paulson was born September 27, 1916 in Minneapolis, MN, to the late Walter and Elmina (Swanson) Paulson. He grew up and attended school in Minneapolis, MN. He served in the US Army during World War II and was discharged with military honors. Following his discharge, he drove truck for Land O' Lakes for 10 years. He then began employment with Ralston Purina in Minneapolis, and worked until his retirement in 1980.

On August 6, 1966, Fred was united in marriage to Mildred Aune Zimmerman in Northwood, IA. The couple moved to Webster, WI and later to Siren, WI until October 2001 and then to Grygla, MN.

Fred held membership with the Siren Moose Lodge and the VFW in Richfield, MN.

Survivors include wife, Mildred of Thief River Falls; 2 stepsons, Jerome (Camilla) Zimmerman, Richfield, MN and Kenneth (Patricia) Zimmerman, Sioux Falls, SD; 2 stepdaughters, Marlis (Fred) Haubrick, Grygla, MN and Renee (David) Filas, Circle Pines, MN; 9 step grandchildren, Sara, Todd, Mark, Nathan Diaz, Christopher, Samantha and Kenny Zimmerman, Jamie Dallman and Frank Haubrick; 7 step great grandchildren, Daniel and Melissa Dallman, Troy and Nicholas Haubrick and Heather, Troy and Kevin Zimmerman; 2 sisters, Helga Reule, Siren, WI and Martha Lewendowski, Minneapolis, MN; sister-in-law, Betty Paulson of Minneapolis, MN; and several nieces and nephews including, Wayne and Marlys Delin.

Preceded in death by parents, sister, Freida and brothers, Ted Paulson and Arnold Paulson; sister-in-law, Jenny Paulson; and brothers-in-law, John Reule.
