Mildred "Millie" Paulson, 88, died on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the United Lutheran Church, Gatzke, MN with Pastor Katie Koch officiating. Burial will follow in the Moose River Cemetery, Gatzke, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday.


Mildred Cecelia Aune was born February 1, 1919, at Grygla, MN, to the late John and Gusta (Lian) Aune. She was baptized and confirmed at Gatzke, MN, where she grew up and attended school.

On July 18, 1940, Mildred was united in marriage to William Zimmermann at Gatzke, MN.

August 6, 1966, Mildred married Fred Paulson in Iowa. The couple moved to Minneapolis, MN, where she did carpet sewing and worked for Zins Master Bakery for 23 years until her retirement in 1981. She moved to Webster, WI and later to Siren, WI. In October of 2001 they moved to Grygla, MN.

Millie enjoyed dancing. She and Fred traveled around the dance circuit every Friday and Saturday night. She was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. Millie liked to cook and bake and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. She also enjoyed played pull tabs. Mildred held membership in the Moose Lodge in Siren, WI.

Survivors include 2 sons, Jerome (Camilla) Zimmermann, Richfield, MN and Kenneth (Patricia) Zimmermann, Sioux Falls, SD; 2 daughters, Marlis (Fred) Haubrick, Grygla, MN and Renee (David) Filas, Middle River, MN; 9 grandchildren, Sara Lien, Todd, Mark, and Christopher Zimmermann, Samantha Delveccio and Kenny Zimmermann, Nathan Diaz, Jamie Dallman and Frank Haubrick; 9 great grandchildren, Daniel and Melissa Dallman, Troy and Nicholas Haubrick and Heather, Troy and Kevin Zimmermann, Christian Lien, and Vincent Delveccio; 1 great great grandchild Alexia Dallman; 2 sisters, Esther O'Brien, St. Paul, MN and Marvel (Clayton) Carlson, Thief River Falls, MN; brother, Kenneth "LaVerne" Aune, Thief River Falls, MN; 3 sisters-in-law, Hazel Aune, Martha Lewendowski, and Betty Paulson.

Preceded in death by her husband Fred, parents, 3 brothers, Olaf, Juel and Glen Aune, brother-in-law, George O'Brien and 3 sisters-in-law, Paula Aune, Lila Aune, and Ione Aune.

Mildred "Millie" Paulson died on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN at the age of 88 years, 6 months, and 13 days. May her memory be blessed.
